Tacoma Craftsman

This 1930s Tacoma Craftsman home started out somewhat recently remodeled, but with a fairly unforgiving pallete and floorplan. We were able to knock down the wall to the tiny office and opened up the space significantly. We had to relocate a laundry chute, install a temporary wall, and add a new foundation pier and glulam beam to support the home. We removed the ceiling tiles, replaced knob & tube wiring, and relocated some plumbing to increase the ceiling height by almost a foot. Added a window and replaced the slider with a French door, added substantial pantry space at the end of the kitchen, and were able to achieve almost an 8’ island with bar seating.
